Mission and Vision Statement
The mission of Ignite International is to develop and train athletes and coaches in their respective sports by using short-term trips internationally, as well as amateur athletics to ignite a desire for missions that will last a lifetime.
This vision will be accomplished through the following means:
Taking athletic teams and coaches to countries outside of the United States for the purpose of ministry and sharing the Christian faith
Using the "platform" of athletics to attract a crowd, with whom athletes and coaches will share testimonies of their relationship with Jesus Christ
Participating in ministry opportunities (such as street ministry, church services, visiting orphanages, schools, hospitals) and providing assistance to missionaries in the countries we visit
Providing follow-up for those who have made decisions to receive Christ as Savior by connecting them with a local church and giving them the opportunity to grow through a Bible correspondence course.
Hosting and facilitating athletic clubs and camps for the purpose of impacting the lives of young people through the venue of athletic participation and competition
Providing an opportunity for their skills to be developed, preparing them for their next level of competition (from junior high to collegiate) by facilitating camps and amateur athletic clubs with highly qualified coaches, successful athletes, etc.
Motivating and encouraging the athletes to see their competitive experience as a parallel to the game of life, equipping them to be victorious team players and competitors
Challenging the athletes to live their lives as champions in the eyes of God through a personal relationship with His son, Jesus Christ
Hosting and facilitating coaching clinics/retreats for the purpose of edifying seasoned coaches and developing young coaches
Increasing their knowledge of their respective sport by providing clinicians who have proven to be successful and/or recognized in their field of expertise and as champions on and off the court.
Equipping them to develop their athletes as a "whole person" by helping them realize the powerful impact coaches have on athletes beyond the games
Motivating, encouraging and inspiring them to coach with the character and integrity of a true champion so that they can effectively develop a generation of leaders
Coordinating and facilitating outreach programs for athletic programs to provide opportunities for them to impact their communities
Working in partnership with established ministries to enhance their effectiveness by the addition of an athletic component
Encouraging and challenging athletes and coaches to use their natural "platform" domestically (in their "backyard") as well as overseas.
Providing support and covering to such programs as various organizations learn to team together to impact the lives of our next generation of leaders
